What is Pilates?
Designed to improve physical fitness, the practice of Pilates was developed in the early 1900s by Joseph Pilates, who described his technique as
"A complete coordination of body, mind and spirit"
Pilates works from the inside out to strengthen the centre and mobilise your spine.
Regular Pilates classes can improve your posture, muscle tone, balance and joint mobility, as well as relieving stress and tension, resulting in a body that is properly aligned and at less risk of injury.
As a non-impact, non weight bearing technique, Pilates can also help to prevent osteoporosis.
My Pilates classes are suitable for men and women of all ages and abilities. However, I am happy to teach 1:1 to address specific needs and concerns.
